1. History
Gewurztraminer is a particularly aromatic selection of an old vine always known in Alsace, Traminer Rose. At that time it was called, especially when the wine had less body, under the name Traminer. Etymologically the name Gewurztraminer literally means Traminer "spicy".

Its grains are quite small, a pink-brown colour and the skin encloses the very full-bodied flavour constituents that it finds in the Alsatian vineyard soil.

2. Tasting

Of a nice bright pale gold colour, the 2009 Gewurztraminer Hahnenberg reveals to the nose a range of aromatic flowers, linden, elder and white fruit. The lively attack on the palate, rich and oily, has a nice balance between sweetness and spices. The whole is sleek elegance while the character is both sweet and dry at the same time.

3. Gastronomy

Both soft and strong, this Hahnenberg Gewurztraminer 2009 is the perfect companion for your aperitifs but also a fried foie gras with a touch of sea salt. It will be equally at home with Munster, with a Maroilles or with a Mont d'Or just out of the oven (cheeses).

Can be kept : 7 – 8 years
Serving Temperature : 10 to 12°C
